So on Memorial Day weekend we packed up our house, food and tent and tried to go camping. I say tried because we were not very successful. It being a holiday weekend made for some packed campgrounds, there was no room for us, anywhere!
We didn't think about reserving a camping spot ahead of time unfortunately. But we made the best of it and hiked all weekend and had a bbq and roasted marshmallows over our camping stove at the park. And then hung out with uncle Eric and aunt Rachel that Monday. It ended up being a perfect weekend. Here are some pictures of our cool hikes!
Here are some at Red Reef Trail:
And the next day we went to Kanarraville Falls, which was absolutely breathtaking and SO fun. We hiked through water most of the 5 miles. I was worried a little about how the girls would handle it but they handled it like champs! They splashed through 3 miles of bone chilling water like it was the best thing that had ever happened to them. I beamed with pride a little when we were passing all these moms and dads carrying their big boys through the stream because they wouldn't get in while my tiny girls were just loving the cold water! They surprise me more and more every day.
I wish I took more pictures, but here's what I got!
Me and my 3 baby girls! (See how low my pregnant belly is?? It's insane. But hey, at least I can breathe.) The canyon got cold so both girls were shivering by the time we got out.
AddiLyn konked out on this rock on the way back. Ryan set her down for a little break and all of the sudden she was catching some ZZZ's. Tired little thing.
But YES, Kannarraville falls, probably the most fun hike I've ever been on. About 5 miles and doable with a pregnant belly and kids (if they're okay with getting a little soggy and muddy) and so beautiful. Definitely worth missing a camping trip for.
And this has nothing to do with hiking but here's my 6 month shot, side view, since that front view earlier was a little horrendous. I'm loving this pregnancy though. I'm so excited to meet our 3rd baby girl!!
