Halloween 2013

Well Halloween is pretty much over for us. We carved pumpkins, went trunk or treating and had an awesome ward Halloween party. All that's missing now is watching hocus pocus and eating caramel popcorn!
I wish I would have taken more pictures at the Halloween party. It was sooo much fun!
There was a lot of great food, super nice people (seriously, I have the most friendly ward. At first a didn't like it because there aren't many younger couples but the more I get to know the people there the more I want to stay in this ward forever! So many super nice and welcoming people!)
So anyways. There was great food, lots of fun activities, costume parading, socializing, trunk or treating, a haunted hay ride and lots of fun costumes.
Loved it.
Hideous mummy truffles I made for the party. Hideous but so good.
Another yummy treat I made!

Emma was so pooped by the end of the day...( we went to 2 birthday parties before the ward party, leaving no time for a nap! Yikes. )

Here are a few more 2013 Halloween pictures!

She hated carving pumpkins.

11 weeks

How far along? 11 weeks
Gender? Too early to know
Total weight gain? 0 pounds
Maternity clothes? Nope!
Stretch marks? No new ones!
Sleep? Sleeping great!
Best moment this week: Skypeing my sisters on Sunday
Missing Anything? Friends and family
Movement: Nothing I can feel
Food cravings:  none. Just hungry all the time, but not much sounds good.
Anything making you queasy or nauseous? Any strong or weird smell. Messes.
Symptoms: tired, hungry, but the nausea isn't that bad, only once or twice a week at the most!
Mood: good mood! I've made a goal to leave the house at least once a day, going to the park, library, gym, anywhere. Just getting out helps both Emma and I keep happy and get along :)
Looking Forward to: Halloween! We already had or Halloween party so for the actual day of Halloween We're just staying home and watching hocus pocus, but I'm super excited about it! :)

I look like a have a little baby bump but let me assure you, I don't have one. Just getting fat. This is a good baseline picture though to compare with my later weeks!

"Oh, so you just stay at home?"

The other day I had to call the apartment office with a complaint (cheap carpets ripping up, paint rubbing off, things that aren't our fault and that I don't want to come out of our deposit!)
She decided she needed to call the manager and ask them what to do.
This is how the conversation went down

Her " Look I don't know what to tell you, I'm going to have to call the manager and get back to you."
Me "okay."
Her " Do you work? Or do you just... Stay at home?"

Alright. Do I work? Or just stay at home?
As if staying at home with a child is the complete opposite of working? This is how the conversation should have ended ....

 Look lady.
It's only 10 in the morning and I've cooked a breakfast for my family, made dinner and put it in the crockpot, changed 3 wet or poopy diapers, cleaned a messy kitchen, dressed, brushed the teeth, and did the hair of my squirmy toddler, (and myself) , read 3 books, helped draw a picture, folded a load of laundry and started a new load of laundry, made beds, vacuumed the living room which resulted in the carpet ripping up, handled at least two tantrums, fed a cat, tidied up the house.. Needless to say, I've been up since very early in the morning and I've been busy from the moment I got out of bed. Now let me ask YOU. Do you work? Or do you just... Sit at your desk all day and vaguely answer peoples questions?

Grrrr...
So, obviously, this is a topic I'm a little sensitive about. Before I got pregnant with #2 I was entertaining ideas of going to work. Using my degree. But we have decided that our babies need me more than anyone else right now.

So, being a mom is my line of work and I'm very passionate about it. I love it, it's very fulfilling for me. But. It is work. I don't sit around in my pajamas all day everyday watching tv and eating. Do I want to sometimes? Yes. Especially being sick. And once in a great while I will stay in my pajamas a little late. But every day? No. I'm not home everyday either, but when I am I'm busy.

I know this woman did not mean to offend me. But please be careful what you say about what people are doing with their lives. Don't belittle someone who does something differently than you....
Or they may just turn around and write a nasty blog post about how horrible you are and what they wish they would have said to you!! :)

That being said. I love being a mom! I love my baby girl and the baby to come!!
This is my life now and I wouldnt have it any other way!

( morning sickness plus poopy diaper is bad business around here.)

Baby Johnson #2

I wish I would have tracked my pregnancy with Emma a little more, so I could have something to compare this one to. Unfortunately I was in school and time for sentimental things like this just wasn't a luxury. So I'll do it with this one... not that I have more time but I don't have to study when I do have time! Yay!

How far along? 10 weeks
Gender? I wish I knew!
Total weight gain? 0 pounds
Maternity clothes? Definitely not.
Stretch marks? Just the old ones that are mostly faded.
Sleep? Can't get enough of it! I'm so tired.
Best moment this week: hearing my little beans heart beat. 170 Bpm (totally normal) and strong! The nurse was surprised we found it so well.
Missing Anything? Idaho, my parents and siblings, going outside
Movement: Probably a lot but none that I can feel
Food cravings:  food is disgusting and I hate it!!!!!!! Keep it away from me!! Except for mustard. I find mustard really good these days. It sicks Ryan out.
Anything making you queasy or nauseous? Any strong or weird smell. Messes. Most food.
Symptoms: super tired, hungry, extremely emotional, throwing up, bloating, moody... So basically someone you don't want to be around right now. :( poor Ryan and Emma.
Mood: emotional. I saw a picture of Emma just barely when she was 11 months and she was so tiny! My baby's growing up! Now please excuse me while I go sob in the corner for a few hours. Okay not really but it's tempting.
Looking Forward to: bed time!!

Texas state fair

Well I feel like an official Texan. I've been to the Texas state fair. There was a lot to see, a lot to eat and tons going on.
Emma loved it. We don't get out much these days so she was so excited to go somewhere new!
Her favorite part was the petting zoo... She LOVED the goats.

Here's Tex! He moves and talks, waves his hand and welcomes everyone to the Texas fair. He burned down last year so here is the new and improved Tex.

There were police men riding around on the horses. I thought it was very fitting.

Emma milking a cow :)

Pig racing

The petting zoo, there were quite a few exotic animals.

Robbie was the favorite uncle for the day.

There was a firework show. I thought Emma would be terrified but her inner rock star busted out and she was dancing to the music and running around pointing at all the fireworks. So unexpected and fun :)
