Yes, we're weird. Yes, we're quirky. We may be a little awkward. But, dang, we're awesome, especially when we get together.
And I was lucky enough to have them over as visitors last week.
Our house isn't very big but we're all used to being in a small space together. We grew up together in a house about the same size as mine is, so it felt natural and cozy.
They arrived June 10th around 3:30 am. They spent the weekend seeing the sites and being tourists and by the time they reached my house they were pooped.
The next day we spent getting everyone settled, unpacked, cleaning out the van and just chatting and catching up.
EmmaLee warmed up to everyone within 5 minutes of waking up in the morning. She was thrilled to have aunts to play with!
My dad immediately fell in love with AddiLyn. But was there any doubt.
We spent Wednesday playing our favorite family games like speed, uno, catch phrase.. Games like that.
We also grilled dinner and set up a badminton net in the backyard. That was a huge hit. My family randomly has lots of skill in the sport...
The next day we got our floor redone so we left the house and spent the day at the Johnson's awesome ranch! We were so lucky to have access to that place. It was a bummer Ryan's family wasn't there though.
My family camped out there for the night by the lake (the girls slept in the dome). The next day we zip lined, swam and tried out their huge slip and slide, which was tons of fun!
The rest of the trip was spent enjoying each others company, cooking, and touring the area.
We cut Amy's hair and bangs. She's a babe.
I was glad they could all be there for AddiLyn's blessing.
It was such a blessing to have them here.
The week went by so fast, before I knew it we were saying goodbye. Emma got in the van as they all packed up and kept saying "bubye mommy! Bye bye!" She was so sad when she realized they were leaving and she couldn't go with them. Too soon I found myself watching the van drive away as everyone waved goodbye and Emma sadly saying "bye bye mee mee..."
I am so blessed to have these wonderful people in my life and to be able to call them family.
Luckily they left Alycia with me for the summer, the party can continue on. :)

These pictures are so fun! It looks like you've been blessed with a pretty awesome family! And yay for new floors and baby blessings! :)
